Snort 2.9.0.3 has been released!

As announced last week, Snort 2.9.0.3 has been released!

For the full ChangeLog and release notes go here.

As always we encourage users to update to the most current version to take advantage of bug fixes and new features.

The VRT has also released a version of the 2.9.0.3 ruleset. You will need to use this ruleset if you are running Shared Object rules for Snort as Shared Object rules must be recompiled for use with 2.9.0.3.

If you are a subscriber, you may download the ruleset now here, or by using PulledPork.

If you are a registered Snort.org user, you will have to wait for the 30 day window to expire as per the VRT License, before you can get the latest ruleset. If you wish to become a Snort.org rule subscriber, you may find more information about the subscription here. If you'd like to purchase a VRT subscription online using a credit card, you may do so here, with prices starting at just $29.99 a year.

If you are running any custom written Shared Object rules, you will need to recompile them under Snort 2.9.0.3 in order for them to work correctly.

Thanks for using Snort!
